FINE CITIZENS

ABOUT FINE CITIZENS

Fine Citizens is a band 10 years in the making.

Longtime friends, Jason Turner, frontman for the band Fashion Week, and Heather Evans, an award-winning songwriter and performer, have been writing music together since 2013.

The pair performed several times as a duo (their debut gig was opening for Sixpence None The Richer) but it wasn’t until the addition of local super producer and guitar player Brian Skeel that the band Fine Citizens rounded into form.

The trio met in 2022 and immediately began writing and recording together.

The result of those collaborative efforts is a Fine Citizens EP that will be released later this year and a debut single called “Tempted,” that will be released on May 5.

“Tempted” is an epic, cinematic pop experience and the first of what the band hopes will be many signature songs.

Music Video for Tempted Coming Soon! - Being considered for some film festivals!

“In a visually striking music video, the story unfolds in a modern yet ethereal setting that echoes the biblical Garden of Eden. The protagonist, a charismatic and mysterious woman, is seen walking through a lush, forbidden garden. At the center of the garden, she discovers a gleaming, perfectly ripe apple—a symbol of temptation. With a sly, knowing smile, the protagonist takes possession of the apple, which seems to radiate with an irresistible allure.

As the protagonist moves through the world, she encounters a series of characters. These characters, initially indifferent, and beholden to their own devices, become increasingly captivated by the apple. The protagonist holds the fruit just out of reach, subtly flaunting it and stirring a deep, primal envy in those around them. The apple becomes a metaphor for desire, ambition, and the lengths to which people will go to possess what they cannot have.

The music video escalates as the characters, consumed by their envy, begin to vie for the apple during an epic, unforgettable poker scene. The protagonist, seemingly in control, teases them further, showcasing the apple's power to corrupt and divide. In the climax, the protagonist takes a bite of the apple, and the world around her begins to unravel—revealing the true cost of giving in to temptation.

In the end, the video leaves its audience questioning the nature of desire and the consequences of envy, as the protagonist walks off set, leaving behind a fallen world forever changed by the presentation of the apple, and leaves viewers with the question, "What's the one thing you want but you can't have."
